One of the United States’ and the world’s, largest, most successful tire companies, Yokohama Tires began its life in Tokyo, in 1917, as the Yokohama Rubber Co., Ltd. In 1969, the company founded Yokohama Tire Corporation as its North American manufacturing and marketing segment.
Yokohama is hailed for its innovation and technological advances; the Aspec A300, for example, is just one standout product, promoting reliability, longer performance, and reduced noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH). By the way, in Japan and other countries, these products are sold under the “ADVAN” brand, rather than Yokohama. Within the U.S. there are two manufacturing facilities, located in Virginia and Mississippi.
Within the Yokohama Tires product line are tires for: passenger cars, commercial trucks and buses, light trucks, high-performance vehicles, and off-the-road mining and construction applications. These tires employ state-of-the-art technology and materials, with specific vehicle types and characteristics taken into account. Known as SmartSolution®, this technological initiative factors into every Yokohama Tires model, incorporating benefits for:
Yokohama Tires are also very popular within the aftermarket (secondhand) community. Yokohama places a great importance on its environmental footprint, employing sustainable, recycled materials in its manufacturing.
